It also runs a tourist information office.
The OTCVO, which is deeply rooted in the community and backed by a strong network of partners, has launched and contributed to numerous innovative projects over the years. The organization works closely with a range of socio-economic and tourism stakeholders in Val-d’Or and the surrounding region, including the Val-d’Or Chamber of Commerce, the Secretariat to the Cree Nation Abitibi-Témiscamingue Economic Alliance, the City of Val-d’Or, the Vallée-de-l’Or RCM, the regional tourism association Abitibi-Témiscamingue Tourism, and several other local organizations dedicated to tourism promotion and development.

The OTCVO drives the development of tourism offerings within the City of Val-d’Or and promotes them to a range of markets, for the benefit of local tourism businesses and residents alike. It also operates a tourist information office serving both Val-d’Or and the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region.

In five years, tourism will be a source of pride for residents. It will come through in their willingness to pitch in through helping welcome visitors, supporting tourism growth or promoting Val-d’Or’s appeal. Meanwhile, the city’s urban vibe and natural surroundings will give visitors more to do and even more reasons to extend their stay.
