Bleu Blanc Bouge skating rink
Built following the National Hockey League norms for a regulation skating rink (200 by 85 feet), the BLEU BLANC BOUGE skating rink offers an ice quality that meets the professional standards and the required versatility for practicing other disciplines according to the seasons. While the period for ice stretches from the end of November to mid-March, a variety of other sports such as basketball, soccer and ball hockey, as well as many sportive activities are practiced from spring to fall. The skating rink distinguishes itself by its use of a new high energy efficiency refrigeration system supplied by CO2, for the adaptation of the infrastructure for a universal accessibility for the practice of sled hockey, and finally, for the wood and steel roof and the pavilion that the city of Val-d’Or chose to add to the project. From Monday through Friday between 9h am and 3h 45 pm, the priority for the ice is given to schools, Early Childhood Centres and organizations working with children. The reservation schedule is put up on site. If the time slot is free, access to the ice is possible.
