This former boarding house for European miners will make you relive the mood of the Abitibi gold rush. The inn is part of the Bourlamaque mining village, unique site in Quebec, comprised of 60 remarkably preserved log houses. At walking distance from the Cité de l’Or, former mine transformed in a tourist attraction. L’Auberge de l’Orpailleur kept its authentic character: maple wood floors, wood trims, antique furniture, through which we can imagine the daily life of the miners who came alone from Ukraine or Poland trying to build a new life on this side of the Atlantic…
