Description of the attraction
Delve into the heart of a fascinating culture and experience the Anicinabe adventure! Located on the shore of Lake Lemoine, a few minutes from downtown Val-d’Or, Kinawit will make you discover First Peoples’ millennia-old history of the Anicinabe territory. Kinawit will make sure you have an authentic cultural experience through guided tours, cultural workshops and rustic accommodation or sleep in a tepee.
The guided tour will introduce you to Anicinabe’s history and First People’s culture, including visiting various homes and traditional facilities, an exhibition and a craft counter. The cultural workshops will make you experience anicinabe culture through activities such as cultural awareness, craftsmanship or the preparation and tasting of bannick.
You will also find on the spot eight rustic camps that can welcome 2 to 3 people each and five tepees of different size that can welcome from 2 to 5 people.
